Biography
Doug Thoms is a contemporary figurative painter born in Belleville, Ontario in 1965. Doug received a BAA in illustration from the Ontario College of Art in 1989. From 1992 until 2010 Doug worked in the animation industry as a designer, storyboard artist and director. In 2010 Doug transitioned to a full time painting practice and has completed advanced painting courses at the Vancouver Island School of Art. He and his wife live in Victoria, BC, on the unceded Coast Salish Territory of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ nations..
